James Eakins MD, FACS After graduating from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Dr. Eakins enrolled at Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He graduated in 1993 and began a residency in general surgery at Episcopal Hospital, also in Philadelphia. After finishing residency, he moved on to Cooper University Hospital, where he did his fellowship training in trauma and surgical critical care. Dr. Eakins remained at Cooper as an attending trauma surgeon after finishing his fellowship. He remained there for 10 years until July 2009. He has been serving since then as the Director of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at Hahnemann University Hospital. When he isn’t working, Dr. Eakins enjoys golf, grilling, and spending time with his wife and baby daughter. |
