Jay Yelon, DO, FACS, FCCM Dr. Jay Yelon is chief of the Division of Trauma, Burn & Surgical Critical Care at Westchester Medical Center and program director of Surgical Critical Care Fellowship and associate program director of General Surgery at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. He is also associate professor of surgery and anesthesiology at New York Medical College. Previously, he served as chief of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York and associate professor of Surgery at the New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Yelon earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, Old Westbury, New York. He completed his residency in general surgery and a fellowship in burn surgery at Nassau County Medical Center of the State University of New York, Stony Brook, East Meadow, New York. He also completed a fellowship in trauma/surgical critical care at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Rochester, New York. Dr. Yelon was named Teacher of the Year by the surgical house staff at Westchester Medical Center/New York Medical College for three consecutive years, 2006-2008. He was awarded the Medical Student Teaching Award at New York Medical College in 2008. He has given more than 50 presentations and written several abstracts, book chapters, editorials and journals about emergency, surgical critical care and trauma topics. |
